Course Description

Educators in this course will learn to collect spatial data and design classroom projects using the moblie apps Survey123 and ArcGIS Field Maps.

Survey123 is a configurable app within the ArcGIS online suite.  This app is survey centric with a locational component.  It is a great tool for getting students outside and thinking about data that can be easily collected at a point location.  It also affords many lessons related to reading graphs and data.

ArcGIS Field Maps is a configurable app that is map centric.  Here the map is the driver of the questions being asked or data collected out in the field.  With this app students are able to draw points, lines and polygons and then attribute those features while out in the field.

Both apps are wonderful tools for group and community science projects!
