GIS technologies are only as good as the questions asked them - educators in this class will learn the National Geographic Geo-Inquiry process: Ask, Collect, Visualize, Create, Act.

Educators will learn about the administration side of their ArcGIS Online Organization and how to navigate the details involved in getting their class GIS enabled.

Course Outline

  • Where are you with GIS? -  Introductions/technical self-assessment
  • The Geo-Inquiry ProcessA recorded lecture will step through and discuss the above materials.
  • Technical Deliverables – (12 hours)
  • ArcGIS Online Basics 
  • Teaching with ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World 
  • Esri Geoinquiries 
  • Performing ArcGIS Online Administrator Tasks

Learner Outcomes

Be proficient in the GeoInquiry method of teaching/learning

Be proficient in the use of ArcGIS Online and the Living Atlas

Eligible for Graduate Credit

Graduate credit is available at $75 per credit hour, in addition to course fee. Participants could earn up to 3 graduate credits upon completion of all 3 GIS courses.
